Winter Trip - January-March 2019
Restaurants We Really Liked
- Kettle Restaurant 748 W Starr Pass Blvd, Tucson, AZ, we can not find a website. Family restaurant with really good home cooked meals. This restaurant is next to the motel we stayed on our first stop in Tucson, the motel was awful but the one bright point was this restaurant. We do not intend on returning to the motel, but if we ever stop in Tucson we will make a point of eating here again. It is less than ¼ mile from exit 259 of westbound I-10.
- The Boundary on 66 16001 E. Hwy 66, Luther, OK. The best hot links Ernie has had in any restaurant, homemade baked beans, & a really good spicy BBQ sauce. The real hit of his meal was the black bean soup, black bean soup is one of Ernie's favorites. This black bean soup's taste reminded Ernie of why black bean soup is a favorite of his. The meal was the best Ernie has had on this trip. The service was great. It is a little out of the way from where we normally travel, but if we are anywhere in the area we will go 15 miles out of the way to go to it. It is on OK-66 about 11 miles east of exit 141 of I-35, 5 miles past the Arcadia Round Barn or about 11 miles west of exit 158 of I-44.
- The Fairpark Grill 343 E Main St, Tupelo, MS. We stopped here on the way to Elvis' Birthplace. We are really glad we did. Ernie had blackened catfish with rice pilaf and steamed yellow & green summer squash. Everything was cooked to perfection. We went to this restaurant a second time, the food and service was as good as the first time. It is directly across Main street from Fair Park, where the Elvis Tribute statue is. We will definitely eat here anytime we are in Tupelo.
